June 2016Toma CayabyabToma was practically born into music. Belonging to a widely-known musical family, he has been listening and watching everything that has to do with music since childhood. During summer breaks when he was younger, he would also help out at the Music School of Ryan Cayabyab, where he got to both teach and perform.
His first time singing with a choir was with the Ateneo Boys Choir on his 4th grade. He fondly recalls the busy Christmas seasons where the boys choir would carol at hotels and perform at big performance halls. Upon entering college, however, Toma took a slightly different track. He finished AB Communications at the Ateneo in 2013. Pursuing a production track, Toma wanted to build a career in film. Today, he is taking his second degree at the University of the Philippines Conservatory of Music - major in Choral Conducting. Toma conducts the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra during a conducting workshop
The 25-year-old joined the ACS in 2015. He said that he was a super fan of the ACS, and that this choir brought him back to the glorious days of the San Miguel Foundation for the Performaning Arts to which he was exposed when he was much younger. From the ACS repertoire, his favorites include "Two for the Road," everything written by Ryan Cayabyab (no joke!), and all songs Christmas.
Toma loves jazz music the most. He dreams of becoming an orchestra conductor by day and a jazz singer by night, picking up from a very strong family tradition in music. Toma performs some Christmas songs, apparently one of his favorite genres
Toma sings Bass 1 with the ACS and has recently taken on the post as section head of the ACS basses. Find out more about Toma and watch his videos on his Youtube channel:

May 2016Trina BelamideAside from the iconic Tell the World of His Love which was the anthem of the 1995 World Youth Day, Trina's songs are surely some of your favorites to listen to, and even sing along with. Trina has written love songs such as the Company's "Now that I Have You" as well as heartbreak tunes like "You've Made me Stronger" sung by Regine Velasquez.
Our very own multi-awarded singer-songwriter has won in various national and international songwriting competitions and has worked with the Philippine music industry's biggest artists such as Sharon Cuneta, Martin Nievera, Regine Velasquez, Gary Valenciano, Lani Misalucha, and many others. Trina accompanies the ACS on piano, singing her own "Shine" during Patrons Night at the Grove.
Trina joined the ACS in 2008, reuniting herself with some of her batchmates from the Ateneo College Glee Club. Since then, she has joined the ACS on tour to Japan, Singapore, the US, and Europe. The ACS is so fortunate to have Trina on-board as we are blessed with original compositions to sing, sometimes even with her on the piano.
Trina sings Alto 1 with the ACS and is the choir's resident PR expert. Read more about Trina here: http://www.trinabelamide.com/ |
